New Jersey Devils Team Information

New Jersey Devils Team Information

The current New Jersey franchise has moved many times since the franchise was first awarded in 1974.

The New Jersey Devils began their NHL life in Kansas City Missouri, as the Kanas City Scouts. Their tenure in Kansas City only lasted until 1978 when the National Hockey League approved the team's move to Denver. The Colorado Rockies struggled amd in 1982 the franchise was purchased by John McMullen, John Whitehead, and Brendan Byrne, relocated to New Jersey. The franchise was renamed to the current New Jersey Devils.
