Professional Hockey Leagues - American Hockey League (AHL) Champions - Calder Cup

Professional Hockey Leagues - American Hockey League (AHL) Champions - Calder Cup

The Calder Cup has been the symbol of supremacy throughout the 63 year history of the American Hockey League. Even though the League has utilized many different playoff systems, each format ensured only the most deserving team earned the privilege of hoisting the Calder Cup.

The trophy was named Frank Calder, who served as the National Hockey League's first President from 1917 to 1943. During the 1920's, Mr. Calder was instrumental in guiding hockey into the main-stream of America's major cities including Boston, New York, Detroit and Chicago.

We have also included the regular season champions as reference.
