Manitoba Jr B Championship - Baldy Northcott Trophy

The Baldy Northcott Trophy is awarded to the Manitoba Provincial Junior B Hockey Champions. The Manitoba champion and the runner up represents Manitoba at the Keystone Cup which since 2018 is a playoff with the northern Ontario champion from the Lakehead Jr Hockey League. First awarded by Hockey Manitoba in 1940, the Baldy Northcott Trophy has been contested by various leagues and teams. The one league that consistently participated is the Keystone Junior Hockey League (KJHL) (formerly the Manitoba Junior B Hockey League). Other than in 1978, 1980, 1981 and 1988 the Baldy Northcott Trophy was awarded to the Manitoba Jr BV Hockey League Champion. Starting in 1999 to 2004 the trophy was also contested by the Northwest Junior Hockey League. Since 2005, the champion of the Keystone Junior Hockey League has stood uncontested as the Provincial Champion since the NJHL dissolved in 2004.
