NCAA College Football currently uses a twelve (12) team playoff to determine a national champion. Selection of the four teams is accomplished by polls, opinions and computer rankings. Previously the Championship was awarded based on poll rankings. The NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A, is the top level of college football in the United States. College football is very popular throughout much of the United States. The NCAA FBS also controls the Bowl games indicative of this level of competition.

This area reviews all of the conferences, participating schols and previous champions, both at the conference level and National Champions.

NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision Championship

The NCAA does not declare a champion for College Football. Each year a number of polls selects a national champion. Although this selection process has been modified over the years the basis is still the same. The most recognized declaring group is now the BCS ratings system. Based on polls and computer rankings to determine the top four teams in the country, these four teams meet in Bowl Games in a single loss elimination playoff format.(started for 2014 season, until then two top teams in the rankings met in a Bowl Championship game)
