The Patriots won their third Super Bowl in four years and the eighth team to achieve consecutive Super Bowl titles. With MVP Deion Branch tying a Super Bowl record for receptions with 11 New England did not require any last second heroics to claim the title.

The Eagles drove 81 yards, in the second quarter capped by McNabb's 6-yard touchdown pass to L.J. Smith for a 7-0 lead. A 29-yard punt by Philadelphia allowed the Patriots to drive just 37 yards scoring on a Brady pass to David Givens to tie the game with 1:10 left in the half.

New England began the second half with a 9-play, 69-yard scoring drive. The Eagles responded with a 10-play, 74-yard drive later in the third quarter, to tie the game.

On the ensuing drive, New England scoring on a 2-yard run with 13:44 remaining for a 21-14 lead. The Patriots defense then forced a three-and-out to set up Adam Vinatieri's 22-yard field goal with 8:40 to play, leading 24-14. The Eagles needed 13 plays to drive 79 yards, capped by McNabb's 30-yard touchdown pass to Greg Lewis with 1:48 to play.

Brady was 23 of 33 for 236 yards and two touchdowns. McNabb was 30 of 51 for 357 yards and three touchdowns, with three interceptions.
