Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS), formerly the Canadian Interuniversity Athletics Union (CIAU), organizes the matches that lead from the playoff series in all the conferences through to the national championship game, held in November. The Vanier Cup awarded since 1965, was named after the former Governor-General of Canada, Georges Vanier.
